Disneyworld and goodbye for now.

Well, the packers are here, and later today this computer will be boxed and soon on its way to Washington DC. I thought I would quickly post while I have an opportunity. It has been a whirlwind these last few weeks. We enjoyed a hot and humid, but fun and adventurous, vacation to DisneyWorld.
As Jason and I reflect on the vacation we are very thankful for these two...

who made the vacation fun and less stressful. Mary Ann was great at navigating us through the parks and planning our day there. They also both helped out with kids and made it possible for the adults to go on some of the big rides too. Thanks once again!

We spent a lot of time trying to get wet and cool off.

We met a few of the traditional characters.

The last day there we split for a few hours and the girls enjoyed eating lunch with princesses.

While the boys met up with some characters from Star Wars.

And on occasion the excitement of it all resulted in this...
Now, it is on to our next adventure as we try to find decent housing and good schools in the Washington DC area.

We have been pleasantly entertained!

Friday and Saturday we attended two dance recitals and two baseball games. Actually, on Friday Jason and Aubrey went to baseball and Hannah and I to Dance. It was fun to see our kids improving their talents and performing. Jeremiah ended the season for his Little League Baseball last night. Both Saturday and last night he played 3rd base and stayed in the whole game! Yeah! I have to say he did really well playing in that position, especially considering he never practiced playing third base. The coaches tried him there on Saturday's forefeited game, but I was surprised last night to see they kept him there. He made some great plays. All in all, the baseball season turned out better then I had anticipated those first few practices.

He also got a hit each time up to bat last night. One hit was especially good, rolling far into out field and getting him to second.

Third baseman in "baseball ready" position.

Kate was put front and center for both dance recitals. Her teachers had told her she was in the front because she knew the dances so well. She loved the chance to dance in front of a large audience. My only complaint about the dance recital was how long it was, and yes we had to stay for the whole thing. Friday's was 3 hours! One of the numbers some older girls (8/9) performed on Friday was a father and daughter dance with alot of lifts and throwing of girls. Katie now has the idea in her head that her and her father need to be doing the same sort of things. Jason has had to practice all sorts of interesting interpretations of this dance since Friday night. If you know Jason at all you will not be surprised to hear he is more than happy to humor her.

These last pictures of Hannah are from a little while ago. I went to check on her at naptime and couldn't find her in her bed. I was a little worried, thinking where did she go? These pictures should explain what I found in the corner of her bedroom.

This is April Fools Day!

Or at least yesterday was. Thanks to some ideas from my Family Fun Magazine, I decided to pull a few pranks on my kids. Both Jeremiah and Katie found their opened and then sealed back up, bags of chips, actually contained grapes and a note saying April Fools! All the kids had cold cereal thats' milk turned blue for breakfast. After school snack was fish fingers with ketsup and peas...
Hannah liked these fish fingers a lot better than the real thing. (They were made from vanilla sugar wafers covered in Peanut butter and crushed corn flakes).
Jeremiah was the lucky one to find this note in the toilet.
And this in the toilet paper....
Anyway, it would've been a great day, except Jeremiah got frustrated at not having any pranks to pull on me. Oh well, I had fun and I think the kids enjoyed it even if Jeremiah spent a few minutes being emotional about the day.
